Many people have different work methods.  Some thrive with a variety of concurrent goals.  Some are better at focussing on one at a time.  In these cases, it is very important to be skilled at prioritising.  Too often it is just easiest to give the squweeky wheel the  most attention.  Important matters can fall by the wayside this way.  Sometimes whatever is on the top of the in-tray is not the most important.
